Mail network settings

The following feature is only available for System or Product Administrator level accounts. Service Organization and Customer or Site level accounts will not be able to access this feature.

You can configure a mail relay server for MSP N-central to send email messages and notifications.

MSP N-central uses Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP) for the mail relay server, and monitors SMTP traffic on remote hosts using a Probe. If SMTP traffic is blocked, then SolarWinds MSP recommends that you configure a mail relay server.

If you do not set up a mail relay server, MSP N-central can still send email messages and notifications. You need to configure port 25 to allow outgoing TCP connections to remote hosts.

If the mail relay server becomes unreachable or refuses to relay mail, MSP N-central will not be able to send notifications or reports.
