Downloading Database Backups

The following feature is only available at the System or Product Administrator level. SO and Customer or Site level accounts cannot access this feature.

Downloading database backups allows you to save the backup files created on the MSP N-central server during a database backup to a server that is separate from the MSP N-central server. This provides a location from which you can restore the database in the event of a failure or data loss on the MSP N-central server.

The database backups that are available for downloading are displayed on the Download Backups screen.

When downloading a database backup, you can download the backup file and its digest file or only the backup file. The digest file can be used to verify whether or not the backup file has been corrupted. If you download the digest file, you must ensure that it is saved in the same location as the backup file.

Download a backup file

  1. In the navigation pane, click Administration > System Backup and Restore > Download Backups.
  2. Click Download Backup beside the name of the backup file that you would like to download.
  3. When prompted by the browser, save the backup file to the location you would like to use for storing backup files.
  4. If required, click Download Digest beside the name of the backup file for which you would like to download the digest file.
  5. When prompted by the browser, save the digest file to the location you would like to use for storing backup files.
  6. The downloaded files can now be used to restore the database.
