You can set up the Backup Exec jobs to be monitored on a device by the Backup Exec service. The jobs can only be set up after a job discovery task has been run on the device.
To set up monitoring on Backup Exec jobs
This procedure can only be done at the Customer or Site-level.
In the navigation pane, click Views >
You can filter the devices listed by selecting a Folder to View. To further narrow your search, select a Name or Network Address, specify a string (a partial or complete name or network address) and click Search.
- In the Name column, click the device for which you want to set up the jobs to be monitored.
The Edit Device screen appears.
- Click the Status tab.
The Status tab appears and lists the services set on the device.
If the Backup Exec service is not listed, you must first add the service.
- In the Service column, select the Backup Exec service for which you want to specify the jobs to be monitored.
The Discovered Jobs screen appears and displays all of the jobs that have been discovered.
- Select the check boxes next to the jobs that you would like the Backup Exec service to monitor.
You can select the check box next to the Job ID field to select all of the jobs.
- Click Add.
The Edit Device screen appears and displays an instance of the Backup Exec service for each job that you selected. Each instance is appended with the name of the job.
You can now click each Backup Exec service instance and specify the service details and threshold settings.
To stop monitoring a job, you must delete its Backup Exec service instance.
