Application Compliance Rules

Application Compliance Rules allow you to automatically configure applications as Allowed, Disallowed or Ignored based on their name or the name of the publisher. You can also configure Application Compliance Rules to use partial matches for managing applications through the use of the following operators:

  • MATCH EXACTLY,
  • BEGIN WITH,
  • END WITH, and
  • CONTAIN.

Application Compliance Rules are applied in a specific order that you can configure. If an application matches the criteria for more than one Application Compliance Rule, each rule will be applied in turn based on the order indicated in the Rules tab of the Application Compliance screen. For more information, refer to To change the order in which Application Compliance Rules are applied.

You can propagate application compliance settings but you cannot propagate Application Compliance Rules.

Application Compliance Rules can also be configured to apply Customer-level management of applications so that the lists of Allowed, Disallowed, and Ignored applications is specific to individual Customers or Sites.
