Adding and Editing Dashboards

Add a dashboard

You can add dashboards to display the status of services and service groupings.

Dashboards can be public or private:

  • Public: Can be created by all administrators and viewed by all other accounts. Administrative accounts can add folders on public dashboards or remove folders from public dashboards at the customer level.
  • Private: Can be created by all administrators and viewed, edited, and deleted by the creator and accounts of a greater permission level than the creator.

As the Product Administrator, you can manage all system and all public or private dashboards created by your customers.

The SO admin can manage and edit private or public dashboards at the SO level. At the Customer level, this user can manage all dashboards created by you, equivalent administrators, or Admins at the customer level and edit folders for all public dashboards.

The SO tech can manage and edit dashboards at the SO level. At the customer level, this user can manage all dashboards created by the SO Admin, you, or Admins at the customer level and edit folders for all public dashboards.

  1. In the navigation pane, click Dashboards.
  2. Click Manage Dashboards > Add.
  3. Provide a Name for the dashboard.
  4. Select the Accesstype.
  5. Provide a description for the dashboard.
  6. From the Folders Found field, select the folders you want to appear using the > button.
  7. From the Services Found field, select services and click Finish.

Edit a dashboard

You can edit folders on all public dashboards.

You can edit your dashboards at the level at which they were created as well as all customer dashboards.

You can edit all system dashboards at the system level and all other dashboards at the level at which they were created.

  1. In the navigation pane, click Dashboards.
  2. Click Manage Dashboards.
  3. Click the name of the dashboard that you want to edit.

    If you modify a dashboard and the account that created it no long exists, you become the owner of the dashboard.

  4. Update the fields and click OK.
