Windows Event Log Report

The Windows Event Log report allows you to view a log of monitored events filtered on event type and log type.

In addition, you can use the advanced filter option to filter on the following:

  • Event sources,
  • Event IDs, or
  • Event descriptions.

Scheduled reports will not filter on event sources, event IDs, or event descriptions.

To generate the report

This procedure can only be done at the Customer or Site-level.

  1. In the navigation pane, click Reports > Events > Windows Event Log.
  2. In the Reports - Windows Event Log screen, select the time Period for which you would like to generate data for the report.
  3. Select the Start Date and Time from which to start generate data for the report.
  4. Select the Devices for which you would like to generate the report.
  5. Select the Windows event logs and event types for the report.

  6. Do one of the following:
    • Select Advanced Filter to filter on event sources, event IDs or event description (the advanced options for which there are data display) and proceed to step 7, or
    • If you do not want to use the advanced filter options, skip to step 12.

    If you do not filter on one or more of the advanced options, the report will display all event log information for the selected devices and event log types.

    For example, if you select Information as the event type for Application, without selecting an Advanced Option, the report will include all the information events in the Application log.

  7. Select the Event Sources you would like the report to include.
  8. Select the Event IDs you would like the report to include.
  9. In the Description Regex text box, enter a character string that will match a string in the event description of the events to be listed in the Windows Event Log.
  10. From the Order by Column list, select the column that will be used to define the order in which events in the log will be listed.
  11. Select whether to use Ascending Sort Order or Descending Sort Order.

    By default, event log data will be listed by the EventID column in ascending order.

  12. Click View Report.

You can e-mail or export the report as a comma-separated values (CSV) or PDF file.
