Patch management rules
Rules are the instructions that enable you to control all aspects of patch requirements, including scheduling of installation and detection, targeting and approvals. It is these rules that define the patching workflow for your customers and ensures that all devices are updated simultaneously and ensures patching is performed upon device discovery.
By using a combination of device class filtering and granting customer site access, you can selectively deploy patches to a group of devices across a customer. When an existing customer has a new device, the appropriate rule sets up the device accordingly.
When you add a new customer and you want them set up for patch management, grant them access to the patch rule.
Create patch rules by running the Patch Setup Wizard, which will guide you through the each of the steps.
