VNC Service

MSP N-central can monitor the availability of a Virtual Network Computing (VNC) server, and determines the up or down status of the VNC service. The VNC service does not use the Warning state.

MSP N-central averages the availability of the VNC service over the scan interval. It compares the availability of the VNC service to the threshold to determine the status.

Scan Interval

The number of minutes between scan. The default is 5 minutes.

Timeout Value

The time in seconds that the MSP N-central server waits before considering the test a failure. The default is 30 seconds.

Validation String

The response you expect to receive from the queried port. If the validation string that you specify is not returned by the port being queried, the service transitions to a Failed state.

The default validation string is RFB.
