Map Device Classes for ConnectWise Manage

Following the ConnectWise Manage PSA Integration Checklist, this is the third of six steps to integrate MSP N-central with ConnectWise Manage using the PSA Configuration feature in MSP N-central.

Device Class mapping can be configured in multiple configurations to suit specific requirements and situations.

The Managed Server and Managed Workstation device classes in MSP N-central must be mapped with the Managed Server and Managed Workstation configuration types in ConnectWise Manage in order to avoid duplicate entries.

Add Device Class Mappings

  1. In the navigation pane, click Administration > PSA Integration > Device Class Mapping.
  2. In the Device Class Mapping screen, click Add.
  3. Complete the mapping Name and Description.
  4. Select the Mapping tab.
  5. For each Device Class, select a Configuration Type in ConnectWise Manage to which the exported data will correspond.
  6. It is critical that devices classed in MSP N-central as Workstations – Windows are mapped to the Managed Workstation Configuration Type and that devices classed as Servers – Windows are mapped to the Managed Server Configuration Type.

Select Unmapped to prevent MSP N-central from exporting data for that device class.

Select Create New to create a new ConnectWise Manage Configuration Type. In the dialog that appears, type a Name and click Create to add the new configuration type.

  7. Click the Select Customer/Sites tab.
  8. Select the customer and sites for which the mappings apply.
  9. You can select the check box next to the column title Customer/Sites to select all of the customers.

  10. Save your device mappings.

Edit Device Class Mappings

  1. In the navigation pane, click Administration > PSA Integration > Device Class Mapping.
  2. Click the Name of the mapping that you want to edit.
  3. Update and Save the mapping properties as required.

Delete Device Class Mappings

  1. In the navigation pane, click Administration > PSA Integration > Device Class Mapping.
  2. Select the checkbox next to the mapping (or mappings) that you want to delete.

You can select the check box next to the column title Name to select all of the mappings.

  3. Click Delete and confirm the deletion.
