Obtaining the Help Desk Manager API Key

In order to configure MSP N-central so that it can be integrated with Help Desk Manager, you must first obtain the API key from Help Desk Manager. The API key allows the two applications to share data.

The API Key will only be displayed for the HDM Admin account and will not be displayed for any other HDM Tech accounts.

  1. Log in to the Help Desk Manager web client as the Admin account.
  2. In the toolbar, click Setup.
  3. In the left pane click Techs > My Account.
  4. If the API key has not already been generated, click the Edit icon on the account and then beside the API Key, click Generate.
  5. Copy the API Key so that it can be used in configuring MSP N-central.

    Do not modify this value.

  6. Click Save.
  7. Log out of Help Desk Manager.
  8. In MSP N-central, navigate to Administration > PSA Integration > Configure PSA Integration. For more information, refer to Configuring N-central to Communicate with Help Desk Manager.
