Manually start a backup job

Perform a backup manually rather than waiting for the scheduled start time. The MSP Backup Profile includes a schedule for regular backup jobs on a device. You can run a job manually, outside of the regular schedule, if the device requires an immediate backup because new software was installed or important information needs to be securely retained.

  1. Click Actions > Run a Backup.
  2. In the Backup Configuration area, select the type of backup to perform.
  3. Select the devices or filter to target.
  4. Choose the schedule and select the users to target.
  5. Click Save.

The backup will begin at the specified time set in the schedule. If you used the defaults, the backup begins immediately. The time to backup a device will vary depending on the device's resources, the amount of data, and the backup type.
